This summer, the UK will begin the initial flight phase of Ukrainian pilot training. They will receive basic training based on an adapted program used by British pilots. As a result, Ukrainians will be able to fly various types of aircraft. This is stated on the website of the British government.
As emphasized in the message, the pilot training program goes hand in hand with the work on providing Ukraine with F-16 fighters, which the UK is doing with other countries.
Ukraine has repeatedly said that it is particularly in need of aviation supplies. In mid-April, Slovakia completed the transfer of 13 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, four of which were transferred back in March. It is also known that the Netherlands is discussing the issue of deliveries of the F-16 together with the allies. This was previously stated by Prime Minister Mark Rutte. In addition, Ukraine received four Su-25 attack aircraft from North Macedonia.
