President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Japan to take part in the G7 summit.

He flew to Hiroshima on a French government plane from Saudi Arabia, where he spoke to members of the Arab League.

"Japan. G7. Important meetings with partners and friends of Ukraine. Security and enhanced cooperation… The world will get closer today,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainian president is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden in Japan to discuss, among other things, the issue of a "coalition of fighters." He also plans to hold a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The summit began in Hiroshima on May 19. On the first day, the participants adopted a joint statement on the war in Ukraine. They promised to help her "as much as needed."

Earlier, the Japanese government announced the introduction of additional sanctions against Russia. In particular, Japanese companies will be banned from providing architectural and engineering services to Russian clients.
