The CEC of Turkey announced the victory of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the second round of the presidential elections in the country. According to the results of counting 99.43% of the ballots, 52.14% of the votes in it were cast for Erdogan.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the unified opposition candidate for the presidency of Turkey, in his speech called the elections held in the country "the most unfair" in recent years. At the same time, he noted the "will of the people" to change the "authoritarian government" and promised that opposition parties would fight the ruling regime until "real democracy" was established in the country.

Congratulations from the leaders of other states began to come to Erdogan even before the official announcement of the results. The first to do this were Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Emir of Qatar and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and a little later, Vladimir Putin. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Erdogan immediately after the CEC announced the official results.

In the first round of the Turkish presidential elections, none of the candidates won more than 50% of the votes needed to win. Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 49.52% of the vote, the leader of the united opposition, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, 44.88%, and the nationalist Sinan Ogan, 5.17%. In the second round, Ogan supported Erdogan.
