Russia is supplying Myanmar's armed forces with fighter jets and training their pilots to fly them, according to a BBC investigation . According to the UN special commission, Russian weapons can be used to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity: in 2021, a military coup took place in Myanmar, since then any resistance in the country has been suppressed.
As the BBC notes, government troops are losing people: the military is leaving, many are going over to the side of the opposition, and it is not possible to recruit new soldiers. That is why the military government of the country decided to strengthen its air force, in which Russia is helping it.
In particular, Russia supplies Myanmar with Su-30 fighter jets. More than 50 pilot instructors were also sent to the country.
According to BBC sources from among the former military, the authorities are going to use aviation to fight the opposition, which opposes military arbitrariness.
