American writer Elizabeth Gilbert, bestselling author of Eat Pray Love, has announced on Twitter that she will delay the release of her new book The Snow Forest. A novel dedicated to the Lykov family of hermits, it was supposed to be published in February 2024. However, after the announcement made on June 6, the writer was criticized by Ukrainian users, dissatisfied with the fact that the book is dedicated to Russia.
“I decided to correct course. <...> Now is not the time to publish this book. And I don’t want to cause additional harm to a group of people who have already experienced and continue to experience severe adversity,” Gilbert said. She noted that she would take up other literary projects.
