The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan signed a two-year contract with Gazprom for the supply of 2.8 billion cubic meters. m of gas per year. As reported in the department's Telegram channel, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Chairman of the Board of Gazprom JSC Alexei Miller signed the document on June 16 at SPIEF.
Deliveries will begin October 1st. According to the agreement, Russia will supply Uzbekistan with 9 million cubic meters. m of natural gas per day through the pipeline "Central Asia - Center" through Kazakhstan.
The amount of the contract is not named, it is only noted that "prices for natural gas are agreed on the basis of market prices in the region, as well as on the basis of current prices in the country."
The fact that Uzbekistan is considering importing Russian gas was reported last year. Moscow offered Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to create a "tripartite gas union", but this idea was abandoned in Tashkent. Energy Minister Mirzamakhmudov then said that his country was ready to import Russian gas only under commercial agreements, without political conditions.
