Russia has imposed an entry ban on 48 Australian citizens, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. The department said that this is a response to the sanctions against Moscow, which Australia had previously introduced.
“In response to politically motivated sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities by the Australian government, introduced as part of the Russophobic campaign of the “collective West”, entry into our country is closed on an indefinite basis for an additional 48 Australians from among the military-industrial complex contractors, journalists and municipal deputies who form the anti-Russian agenda in this country. Taking into account the fact that official Canberra does not intend to abandon the anti-Russian course and continues to produce new sanctions measures, work on updating the Russian “stop list” will continue,” the statement says.
Entry is denied to officials, as well as journalists and representatives of SYPAQ and Thales Australia. These firms supply Ukraine with weapons, including drones.
