The Rostov-on-Don police reported on “effective work” on June 24, the day of the Wagner PMC mutiny, writes Rostov.ru. At the same time, the publication notes that it was difficult to notice the police on the streets of the city that day, and the fourth police department was generally closed.
If the report is to be believed, all personnel were urgently called to duty on 24 June. Law enforcement officials allegedly took police stations under guard, and the special services implemented the Fortress plan.
Rostovgazeta.ru adds that the department also reported on the detention of the intruders. For example, a robber was arrested who took advantage of the situation in the city. In addition, police arrested a suspected drug possession, as well as a man on the federal wanted list and a woman suspected of assault with a cold weapon.
Earlier it was also reported that the police on that day prevented the distribution of some leaflets calling on the inhabitants of the city "to extremist activities, as well as to destabilize the order."
After the departure of the "Wagnerites" from Rostov-on-Don, the townspeople greeted the police cars that appeared on the streets with shouts of "Shame!" and "Traitors!"
