The Ministry of Justice excluded the human rights project "Apologia" from the register of media-foreign agents. This is stated in the message on the website of the department.
The ministry said in a statement that no foreign funding was found for the project.
The project was entered into the register in May this year. It was launched in August 2018 by the human rights organization Agora. Previously, the project was called "Apology of Protest", but then the name was shortened. Apology provides legal support to organizers and participants of peaceful protests in the face of persecution by the authorities. The team consists of about twenty lawyers who conduct business in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Caucasus, Siberia and other Russian regions.
