The organizers of the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) reported that it will not be held this summer. The events have been postponed to 2024 and 2025.
In 2023, the air show was supposed to be held from July 25 to 30. Earlier, Kommersant's sources reported that the event was postponed to a later date for security reasons. On June 23, Rostec also reported that MAKS would likely be rescheduled to 2024.
According to Kommersant's sources, the event is usually attended by tens of thousands of people a day, the location is open and there are risks of interference with the flight program.
“It is probably possible to strengthen security measures, but the use of electronic warfare (electronic warfare) against potential threats from drones would interfere with the flight program and would hardly make sense,” said a source close to Rostec.
