The number of citizens of Kyrgyzstan killed in shelling on the border with Tajikistan has increased to 36 people. The number of victims is up to 129. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.
Tajikistan, in turn, does not report any casualties on its part. However, according to Ozodi sources, we are talking about 39 people. It is alleged that among them are not only the military, but also civilians, including a pregnant woman and children.
The clashes on the border of the two countries began on 16 September. Kyrgyzstan claims that Tajikistan launched the shelling by "treacherously attacking civilian targets." Tajikistan also announced "mortar bombing and shelling" of residential buildings and civilian infrastructure from Kyrgyzstan.
The conflict between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan began because of an unlimited border. Its length is 970 km, 519 of which have been specified, and the rest remains undescribed. According to the International Red Cross, about 18 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan were evacuated from the conflict zone.
