“Sobchak herself has no procedural status,” a TASS source said.
On October 25, Kirill Sukhanov, commercial director of Sobchak's media holding Caution Media, was detained on suspicion of extortion. RIA Novosti, citing a source, writes that Sukhanov is involved in a case of extortion from officials through Telegram channels.
According to Baza, the former editor-in-chief of Tatler, Arian Romanovsky (Kuzmin), was detained along with Sukhanov. They go through the same thing. The Telegram channel writes that on October 27, Romanovsky and Sukhanov should choose a measure of restraint. Baza notes that Sukhanov and Romanovsky recently created a new Telegram channel, which has not been updated in recent days.
Sobchak herself called the detention of Sukhanov pressure on journalism. “Our commercial director Kirill Sukhanov has been detained. They say it's for extortion. It's just nonsense, laughter, nonsense. Kirill is a businessman and our advertiser, I and my entire editorial staff regard this as another pressure on journalism in the country, ”she wrote in her Bloody Lady channel.
TASS, citing a law enforcement source, reported that Sukhanov was detained “as part of a criminal case” and taken to the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow.
