Donations to the Alina Kabaeva Charitable Foundation in 2022 tripled compared to the previous year, the We Can Explain Telegram channel reports , citing internal documents of the organization they have.

At the same time, the money that was allegedly collected on the foundation’s website for the needs of children with disabilities went to festivals organized by Vladimir Putin’s cohabitant and to “targeted donations” to the structures of the Russian Orthodox Church.

According to financial statements, the Alina Kabaeva Foundation received 217 million rubles in the form of donations in 2022. In 2021, this amount was 74 million, and in previous years, the organization did not receive money from philanthropists at all. The sources of donations are not disclosed in the reporting.

Most of the funds went to organizing events hosted by Kabaeva. The Alina Rhythmic Gymnastics Festival received 71 million in 2022, while in the previous year 15 million 130 million were spent on another Kabaeva festival, Heavenly Grace, which took place in December at the Gazprom sports complex on the Sirius federal territory. The fund did not pay for the rent of the site, which confirms the information received by We Can Explain earlier, according to which the mother of Vladimir Putin's children owns this building worth 2.2 billion rubles. Another 26 million rubles went to create stories for TV channels that are part of the National Media Group, headed by Kabaeva.

The fund’s expense item for charity in 2022 remained practically unchanged and amounted to 28 million rubles, while in 2021 it was 27 million. But most of these funds, 25 million rubles, were transferred to the Feodosia Diocese, after it passed from The UOC is subordinate to the ROC MP.

In 2021, the management of the fund received 8 million rubles. In 2022, there is no corresponding line in the documents. The name of the founder of the fund is also hidden. However, the name of Alina Kabaeva is present in the financial statements.

Before the war, at the end of 2021, the Kabaeva Foundation received a large amount of funds in the amount of 218.2 million rubles, and only 74 million rubles fell on donations. The rest of it is net income.
