Deputy from United Russia Olga Zanko wrote a denunciation of the writer Boris Akunin. She announced this in her Telegram channel.
According to Zanko, the channel's subscribers told her that they saw a poster of the LDM theater "New Stage" in St. Petersburg, which advertises the production of "The Diamond Chariot", Akunin's novel. Vigilant citizens noted the absence of a “foreign agent” marking on it.
The deputy writes that the check she conducted showed that the writer is not on the list of "foreign agents" – so far only the Real Russia organization, in which he is a member, has been endowed with this status. Zanko is indignant that this organization "came out with calls for a fight against the authorities, a change in the constitutional order, and raised funds for Ukraine."
The deputy sent a letter to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation with a request to “check” Akunin for the activities of a “foreign agent”:
“I believe that Akunin, as a public person with a clear anti-Russian position, should also be recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent. The writer lives abroad, and for some reason he easily tries to earn money here, including through performances and books.
Earlier it became known about the conviction for 1 year and 3 months in a colony-settlement of pro-government blogger Sergei Rulev for extorting money from an assistant to a State Duma deputy. The case against Open Russia activist Anastasia Shevchenko was based on his denunciation. During her trial, Rulev also wrote a denunciation of her 15-year-old daughter for calling him "a reptile and a bastard."
